A new study has revealed the most progressive cities in the UK to live in.
Bankrate analysed each city based on search trends, gender pay gap, recycling rates, voter turnout, number of vegan and vegetarian restaurants, number of ultra-low emission vehicles, and council diversity.
A score out of five was awarded for each trend, giving each of the 50 analysed cities an overall score out of 35.

Oxford was found to be the most progressive city, followed by Brighton and Hove, Bath and then London coming in at fourth place, according to Refinery 29.
Swansea (26th) boasts the smallest gender pay gap and St Albans (18th) has the highest recycling rates.
Brighton and Hove is home to the highest number of vegan and vegetarian restaurants, Wolverhampton (28th) has the greatest council diversity and Winchester (24th) recorded the greatest voter turnout.

Interestingly, London didn't place the top 10 in any of the specific category, but finished seventh overall due to consistent scores across the board.
Glasgow, despite previously being recorded as the best city for millennials in another study, came in at 38 out of the 50 cities.
The city was placed first due to its "decent weekly wages, innumerable entertainment hotspots, and house prices well below the national average," according to Totally Money, with a typical one-bedroom property in the Scottish city costing a little over £90,000.
