Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are the it couple of 2024, no doubt about it. Now, they’re being compared to the ‘it couple’ of 2006. Yep, you guessed it, Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, also known as Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in the hit Disney movie, High School Musical.

The celebrity couple have stolen everyone’s hearts over the last few months, and they stole them even more on Sunday night’s Super Bowl, which saw Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take home the all-important title. The NFL star and Taylor Swift shared endless moments of cute moments on the night, and one in particular reminded fans of one certain HSM scene…

As Taylor Swift eagerly looked on the field with her hand on her heart, and Travis Kelce looked over into the crowd, fans couldn’t help but think they’d seen this moment somewhere before.

And there it was, in High School Musical 3. The internet went crazy comparing the snaps to the song Now or Never in HSM3, where Gabriella and Troy sing to each other from the crowd and basketball court.

Of course, Trav and Taylor weren’t singing to each other, but we would’ve loved to see that. However, that all came afterward, at the celebratory after-party.

Fans couldn’t contain their laughter at the comparison online, as one wrote: “OMG LOL Taylor, the same pose.”

“The High School Musical effect is real,” claimed another.

Another exclaimed: “This is by far the funniest thing I’ve seen about this all-day!”

But it’s certainly not the first time the couple’s relationship has been compared to the hit movie…

The similarities between everyone’s fave Disney couple and everyone’s fave irl couple started on Jan. 8 when the Cruel Summer singer missed one of the games due to the Golden Globes, where her Eras Tour concert film was nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter to hilariously compare this to when Troy and Gabriella had the basketball game and the academic decathlon at the same time the auditions for the school musical were ongoing.

Vanessa showed she was just like us, as she commented under Entertainment Tonight’s Instagram post on the matter, writing: “Hilarious.”
