Josh Peck ‘almost played’ Edward Cullen in Twilight

We all remember the Team Edward and Team Jacob saga, as we stood behind Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner, but it looks like the Edward girlies could have been standing behind Josh Peck.

In Peck’s latest episode of his podcast Good Guys, he had celebrity guest Taylor Lautner on, to recall the moment in 2006/7.

“They’re like, ‘Audition for this movie, Twilight, it’s based on a book it’s going to be great,'” he recalled, before explaining how he sent his tape off for the role of vampire, Edward Cullen.

“A month later, I’m with my manager he goes, ‘It’s down to you and three guys, you’re close.'” However, the Nickelodeon alum revealed that he even ‘laughed’ when he heard the news, which was before his dramatic weight loss.

“I’m like, ‘Really?’ I hadn’t even had a tummy tuck yet, I’m like, ‘There’s no way. He’s got to be so shirtless, it’s not going to happen.'” Of course, we now know it didn’t, and the 36-year-old revealed he’s still shocked he even got that far in the process.

“I remember then seeing R-Patz playing this part, I’m like, in what f****** world?” he laughed. “Were they like, they’re like, ‘Okay, here’s what we’re thinking. Chris Hemsworth or Stanley Tucci.’ Like, what the f***?! Impossible!”

Taylor was highly amused with the story, as he exclaimed: “Did I know this? That’s amazing.”
