Benny Thomas Stringer | Obituaries

Benny Thomas Stringer, 65, of Laurel passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 at his residence in Laurel. He was born Wednesday, April 30, 1958, in Raleigh.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 21, from noon until 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 1743 Highway 29 North in Ellisville. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the church and burial will be in the church cemetery. Brother Roy Crouch will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

Benny was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and provider for his children and grandchildren. He worked tirelessly to build his company B Equipment, which continues to thrive today under the leadership of his children.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Reeves Stringer; father John Stringer; mother Edna McMullan Stringer; and sisters Margaret Barefoot and Jimmy Weaver.

Survivors include his son Chad Stringer (April); daughter Stephanie Hembree (Mike); grandchildren Darran Hembree (Starr), Emillee Hembree, Dylan Hembree, Abigail Stringer, Addison Stringer and Amelia Stringer; brothers Sam Stringer (Joe) and Kenny Stringer; and sisters Mary Bean (Tim) and Tootsie Jones (Robert).

Pallbearers will be Jacob Stringer, Darran Hembree, Dylan Hembree, Mike Wilson, Ronnie Bullock and Hershell Bragg Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Pitts, Tommy Ewing and William Riggs.
